Long term security for Steam Trust under new agreement

Posted on March 16, 2017

The Trust has now signed an agreement  with the PLC covering the two museums at Blue Anchor and Bishops Lydeard, on access at Williton for carriage restoration, on storage of heritage carriages pending restoration and on the use of carriages once restored. The agreement can be read under ‘Documents‘ on the Trust website.

The agreement lasts for 50 years, and gives security of tenure for the Trust for its own operations, and when applying for funding from external bodies. It also clarifies the roles and responsibilities of both parties at the sites from which the Trust operates.

The agreement marks the latest stage in improving the governance arrangements for the Trust and providing long term, security for the assets in its care.
