The West Somerset Railway Heritage Trust maintains and manages two museums along the West Somerset Railway line – the Gauge Museum and the Blue Anchor Railway Museum.

Based at Platform One, Bishops Lydeard Station nr. Taunton

The museum is run by volunteers and financed by donations from visitors; admission is free. All visitors are most welcome.

In 1985, the Great Western Railway celebrated its 150th anniversary. The GWR-themed Museum has many artefacts on display. The Gauge Museum Blue Anchor has needed some extensive refurbishment in the last few years, and the Trust hopes to re-open this Gauge Museum in the Spring of 2024.

Celebrating 150 Years between Watchet and Minehead

2024 marks a very special year for the West Somerset Railway as it marks the 150th Anniversary of the opening of the line between Watchet and Minehead.
