Another fascinating acquisition for the Gauge Museum, provided by our friends at Taunton station.

A set of GWR letter boxes from Taunton station is now safely preserved in the Gauge Museum.  Beautifully made, they were part of the internal mail system run by GWR and later BR, which closed on completion of privatisation in 1997.

The letter boxes in their new home
Being carefully unloaded from the van by trust volunteers (L to R), Mike Jones, Peter Sennett, Richard Gibb Greg McNelly, Roger Legg and Geoff Evens.
