The Trust looking for additional Trustees

How would you like to be a Trustee for a small, friendly and vibrant Charity?

The West Somerset Steam Railway Trust (Steam Trust) is looking to co-opt to additional Trustees to its Board. One of the Trustee positions will take a lead on volunteer development whilst the other will initially be a generic Trustee role supporting an increasingly wide range of activities across the Trust.

The West Somerset Steam Railway Trust is a small charity working in support of the West Somerset Railway. The Trust currently has 83 members and around 40 volunteers with a regular annual income of around £20,000. It is principally dependent on subscriptions and donations (many paid by standing order) to support the work of the Trust in running the museums at Blue Anchor and Bishops Lydeard stations and in restoring original Great Western carriages at Williton. A recent National Lottery Heritage Fund Grant is expanding the educational and heritage component of the Museum work at Bishop Lydeard with a particular focus on young people.

If you think you might be interested in becoming a Trustee, then for an informal discussion, please contact Chris Austin Trust Chairman on 07913-653594 or by email at austinca2@googlemail.com

For more details on the roles including the Trustee specification, volunteer development role profile and a copy of the Trust Business Plan, please contact Steve Williams Company Secretary on 07748-637209 or steve@williamsemail.uk
